The overall care was outstanding. We were involved in all decisions, except during an emergency situation which was totally understandable and was explained in detail to
Us afterwards.
The compassion and kindness shown by the midwifery team on Blueberry could not have been better, we were made to feel like individuals and that we were the only patients present.
The care was exemplary and my wife and I felt entirely safe throughout the whole process including in an emergency.
A nice environment and the team were lovely
Since I have been here no one checked on me I was being induced and was not checked on regularly being a teenage mum we get treated differently to the older mums to be.
When first arrived I was left in pain.. as was very busy.. but soon as was seen I was rushed off and seen too with speed. The nurse looking after me was called Kate she was amazing and helped me through a very tough time.. even though was very busy. Don't think I would have got through with out her.. was told couldn't eat or drink and had a perforation and was very scared
We got told to transfer to Grimsby Hospital from Hull when my partner was having her baby, the attention to care details is just excellent; the team is so amazing and just had a great experience!!
Staff on honeysuckle are amazing caring and nothing is to much trouble for them.
The care they give is 100% and could ask for more from the HCA’s through to the nursing staff
The CDC nursery has been a big part of my sons life for a year and a half and not only his but me as his mum. The support network Caroline Russell and Amanda Bray gave me during the time my son has attended there will leave me forever thankfull. My son has additional needs and life can get very overwhelming and whenever I have struggled with my own emotions and worrys they have been the listening ear and gone above and beyond to support me also. These ladies are the most kindest people and are so good at what they do.
I had an xray the week previous, and was asked to come to the fracture clinic. I sat and waited for an hour, before being told that the doctor wanted another xray So we went to the xray department and sat and waited for another 30 minutes
It was an absolute waste of time sitting in the fracture clinic for over an hour.
I am very disappointed with the hospital, as the 1st time I came for an xray, I was in and out within 15 minutes.
Every stage of the procedure after registration was very well explained to me including why it was being done.
After all the tests had been completed and analysed, a conclusion was reached as to what my problem was.
My allocated doctor (who was first class) then explained in detail how to proceed with this problem (pills etc) and he made sure that I understood the instructions.
This was my first time at A & E and i was expecting a lot worse after listening to other peoples stories however i was very surprised, hence my VERY GOOD mark.
First of all, We had a slight tiff with the night staff as I was going to be induced the next day and because I wasn’t in active labour yet and visiting hours were over, they tried to make my partner go home which meant that I’d be in the hospital room on my own all night. I was already having mild contractions at this point from early labour and didn’t get any sleep the night before so as you can image, this sent me into a major panic and I told the staff that I would be discharging myself after having a panic attack. After the discharge papers were signed, the midwife asked me if I wanted her to check my dilation so I agreed. I was 3cm and she asked if I wanted another membrane sweep as I was very favourable so I agreed. She then said that both me and my partner could stay the night so we did. This was about 2am. At 5-6am they checked my dilation again and I was 8cm. That’s when they decided to give me the epidural as they knew I wanted one. They provided me with gas and air while I waited for this. Epidural was painless as they numbed my back before injecting. They then did change over with the day staff and one midwife stayed with us from that moment right up until I gave birth, she was the only one in the room when I was pushing. She was absolutely lovely and so reassuring. When I felt like giving up and was telling her that I couldn’t do it, she was so sweet and told me that baby was nearly out. Finally, baby had arrived and the delivery midwife made me feel so good about myself, telling me how much of a great job I did. Everyone goes on about how hospital food isn’t the nicest but I was actually really impressed with it, and the amount you get as well
